Did you know the humble single use plastic straw takes 500 years to breakdown? Nope – me neither!
For a while now I have been on a mission to reduce the amount of single use plastic we as a family use on a daily basis – things like swapping out plastic shopping bags for reusable ones; saying no to bags when not necessary; using stainless steel drink bottles for myself and the kids (and insuring I have them with us when we are out and about stopping the never ending I’m thirsty call); and most recently swapping single use plastic straws for these Munch Eco Straws.
Munch Eco Straws are made of durable stainless steel and intended for lifelong use – just pop them in the dishwasher (save on hand washing) and you’re good to go. They are perfect new addition to our recently renovated home cutting out plastic as well as being a stylish replacement to those disposable straws. Note: I will be keeping all my existing plastic straws to use for threading or arts and crafts with the kids so the surplus currently running around my drawer will NOT be getting binned however re-homed.
Each purchase of the Munch Eco Straws comes with 4 stainless steel reusable straws (so there is no fighting, everyone can have their own), 1 cleaning brush (for those hard to reach places) and an organic cotton bag for storage (so they don’t lost in the drawer). They are available now from the Munch Cupboard and would make the perfect gift for a smoothie or cocktail lover this Christmas.
Have you checked out Munch? What about the Munch Cupboard, have you checked that out yet? If not, I seriously suggest you do, they have some gorgeous Eco friendly products for the whole family and make making those changes a wee bit easier. I am currently eyeing up a lunch box for Isabelle and some of their food wraps (say goodbye plastic wrap).
Munch Eco Straws are available from the Munch Cupboard for $19.99
